Gentlemen:
Does anyone happen to know the thickness of the washer that's used to set up the clearance in the speedometer adapter thats used on the OD transmission?
Thanks: Ken Dowd

I don't believe the washer is required on a TR4.  It was added for the angle adapter, which didn't come in until TR4A.

I don't know the thickness of the washer offhand, but it's purpose is to keep the inner cable from bottoming inside the driven gear (thereby putting pressure into the angle drive).  Some quick measurements should be adequate to show if the washer is required, and how thick it needs to be.  Most replacement angle drives are already short enough and do not need the washer even in the 4A application.
