Hey new here just thought I would introduce my self. My name is Jason,I'm 23 and from Indiana (northern) and I recently got my dad's 74 Triumph TR6 that he has had sitting since i was born. He passes away 2 years ago and I talked my brother in to giving it to me and I'm going to restore it. Will have pics up sometime this summer when I have a change to make it over there and unbury it. Don't know much about these cars so I'm trying to learn. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again and HELLO!

Welcome!!!
If you have not already done so, I would suggest that you order a free catalog from the two main vendors for parts.   In those catalogs you will find restoration books that will help you to determine what and how to do it. It will also give you an idea of what parts are avialable and how much they cost.
In my view the two main vendors are:

the-roadster-factory.com
 and
mossmotors.com

You should be able to find links to these and other vendors here on VTR web site.

Good luck in your endeavor.

Be very careful with your TR, they become very addictive + their fun to drive

Jason, Congrats on your TR-6! I think it's great that you've got a car that your Dad had - nice tradition - hope you can pass it down one day to your own child.

Charley, Thanks for the two sites - looks like some terrific sources.

Congrats - what's really interesting is when you become one of the old timers saying 'I remember back in the day....'.  TR6 was the hot car when I was in high school so that just about puts me in that genra.  One piece of advice - learn all you can about caring for the car and procure books that tell you how to work on most parts. I have an old Haynes Triumph TR250&6 Owners Workshop Manual that is a staple in my shop.  Just having the electrical diagrams is worth the cost if you can find a manual.

Most of all - time your repairs/upgrades so they are complete in the spring so yu can really enjoy the car.  I missed spring this year because I didn't get the time I wanted to put mine back together.

Happy Motoring, Randy
