Hey fellers,
I just wanted to post and introduce myself, since that's what the forum suggests. I don't own a Triumph but I'm looking and feel like I'm close. TR6's are my main interest, although I like the TR4's too, just don't see as many. I've never owned a vintage automobile, so I'm definitely in store for some surprises I'm sure. Not too familiar with engines either, I mostly just like the way old cars look, feel, smell, sound, and usually the people that are of the same mind.
I'm in Santa Cruz, California, so I'm lucky to be in an area that has pretty low-rust of rust-free cars, and quite a few sports cars. I'm saving for a house so I'm trying not to break the bank, but I figure I should get a car before the house because I won't have any spare cash after that. Unfortunately I don't have a garage now, and I live very close to the ocean, so I'm going to feel bad subjecting an old car to the elements over here. Do you think a cover is enough? Any other tips for maintaining the car finish? I've heard cover it and wash it often. I also thought maybe just pay less for a car that doesn't have a great finish, and look at doing that later.
Anyway howdy, nice to meet you, and I look forward to picking your brains about prospective purchases, and later sharing what I got.
Thanks, Jonathan Mosney
