Well, I attended my first [South Central] Regional, put on by the Central Oklahoma VTR, in Oklahoma City.  It was great fun for me, particularly the 30-car caravans to the breakfasts and dinners!  It rained during the Concours, the only damper on the weekend.  I just can't bring myself to Autocross my "baby."  I entered my car in the "Modified" class, and didn't do too well, which will probably be my last entry, as there is nothing on the car that I am going to change.  But, I needed to do this one time, just to find out what shape my car is in.  ("I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in.")

Thanks again to the gracious crowd at COVTR for putting on such a great Triumph event!

There are two different reasons to autocross a car.  One of course is to try to win. The second is to just enjoy the ride.  These cars were all but made for autocrossing especially as opposed to long oval race tracks.  They still do very well and give us amateurs a real thrill.  I encourage my friends to give it a try. One was 72 years old when he tried it the first time.  He didn't do it to win but rather to feel the car going through its paces.  Ken Richardson would have been proud of his efforts as well as the 46 year old TR3B he was driving.

Okay I have to admit that I do it to win.  I don't win very much any more.  But at the 1993 VTR convention I lucked out and won first in class TR2/3 and I did it with a time that amazed most folks.   There were many who wanted to inspect my car to find out what I had that wasn't stock.  The answer was -Nothing.  Just a stock TR3B.
What a kick!!
