Putting a new interior into my '66 TR4A and going with what Piggott says is the correct seat and trim color - matador red.  Carpet colors available from various dealers run from a good bit lighter shade of red (which all seem to have) to more burgundy shades which are closer in color/shade to the matador red.  However, I've been told by a number of people that the lighter red was what the factory installed both in earlier 4's with the bright red trim and in the later 4A vehicles with the darker Matador Red.  So in the interest of keeping the vehicle as correct as possible, any feedback regarding red carpet shades from folks in the forum would be appreciated.  Thanks!

I have a black ( exterior) TR4 with a red interior and I used black carpets.  They help to set off the red interior instead of washing the red out.  I believe that red  carpets would just be to much red.  I also dislike what the red carpets look like when they fade a bit.  The carpets seem to fade much faster than the rest of the interior pieces, including the seats.
There is my opinion.
