Hello Guys, I am migrating over here from the TR3 Forum. I have a TR3B that is an eclectic collection of parts from the TR3A (firewall) thru the TR-6 (FSU and brakes). My speedometer, however, is an early TR4 speedo, I am told (shallow body). I have had the car nearly a year; the speedometer needle functions properly, but neither of the odometers functions. The PO said that he sent it to a repair facility (I know not where) and it came back in worse shape than when it left.

So, I just got a cheapie SN 6307/04 (1184) off eBay, to see if my friend in the club can cannibalize it. It has a deeper body than the 6319, and will not fit into my dashboard. I checked it out on my car, and the needle works and the trip odometer works, so I would like to cannibalize the trip odometer gear.

This may or may not work. Regardless, it is a short-term fix, and I would like to get a 6319 speedo that functions properly. So, to make a long story short, DO ANY OF YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A 6319 SPEEDO, EITHER NEW OR REBUILT?

I look forward to hearing from you.  (I am a little gun-shy about the eBay speedos, as the sellers are not able to guarantee that the odometers or needle work properly.)

George,  Yesterday I took the opportunity to measure a 6319 and a 6325 speedometer side by side.  There is no difference that I could come up with in the exterior case.  I measured the depth of the several layers with the face down on the bench.  They were all the same.  The same goes for the trip odometer reset "arm".  It is    in exactly the same position on both units.

Sorry I can not offer you the 6319 unit that I have as I just got it rebuilt and recalibrated to go with a 3.45 rear end.   My bottom line is that I think that you are mistaken about the 6319 being different in depth measurements.  Further, I still believe that the 6325 units were put in TR4's at least the ones after the tire size switch.  I am telling this in hopes to help your situation, not to try to prove any point.
