I need HELP!!
I am trying to remove the manifolds from a 1500 engine. I have tried every wrench, socket combination I can think of to get the two bolts which are tucked in between the manifolds. I am to the point of taking a saws all and cutting the intake manifold in half to get it off. There has to be some combination of sockets or wrench to get to them. What did the service techs use? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

A frustrated part time mechanic.

I have a wrench that I shortened and bent specifically to loosen those two bolts.  Even with the special wrench I could still only get about an 1/8 to maybe a 1/4 turn before having to take the wrench off and reposition it.  I've since switched from a Stromberg to SUs and the SU manifold allows for much better access.

I Spent the day replacing my intake/exhaust gasket.  Those two bolts were a pain.  But after I striped everthing off, I was able to get at them from between the exhaust and intake manifold with a wrench.  It was ackward and took a long time but got them.   Good luck.
