I was just about to order a body number plate for my TR3A (the original went missing sometime between '72 and yesterday). My factory record cert. from the Heritage Motor Centre doesn't show it. I there any other way to retrieve this number?  The comm. # is TS 65287 L.

Thanks in advance.

In a word NO.  These numbers were not recorded on any documents that are available that I know of. And they do not resemble or follow any other number on the car.  About the closest you could come would be to find a car with a commission number next to yours and you would know about what it might have been.  That  is the bad news.  The good news is that if you wanted to replace the plate you could do so with just about any number you wished.  I do believe that the numbers started with "EB". But it would just be for your own entertainment.  I guess that if I were to be in your spot I might try to run down a close commission number and then add or subtract from their body number to get it close to yours.

Well...thank you.  There is still a possibility that I may run across it at some point and if I do, on it goes!
