Hello All,

I have owned a TR8 since 1986, various and sundry models, and was always active in the TR8CCA (TR8 Car Club of America) as soon as I found it. The problem was, the lonely TR7, another wedge car, was ignored.

In 2007 at the VTR in Valley Forge PA, a small group of TR7 and TR8 owners got together determined to try and 'forge' a new relationship and club for all wedge cars. We knew that early on there would be resistance, as had happened in the past. Not only between TR7 and TR8 owners, but also those that wanted the cars to remain true to their origins, and others that had somewhat or highly modified their wedges. We acted on a desire to see ALL wedges maintained as a total marque, rather than quibble about this and that. We took it from the planning stages to fruition, and we currently have an organization formed out of the TR8CCA, called the TWOA (Triumph Wedge Owners Association). We received official recognition and sanctioning at the VTR gathering in Ypsilanti, Michigan, in 2008.

The TWOA was formed to help preserve the wedge cars in total, regardless of # of cylinders, Liters, modified, unmodified, street prepared or full out racing. We have a website, a newsletter and a solid core group of officers whose desire is to take the club to a new level.

We are attracting new members every day. There is a wealth of information that has been garnered over the past 25 years, and placed under the auspices of the TWOA. This information is all stored and available on the website. There is tech help available. We have a forum specifically designed for TR7's and TR8's. It is a very active forum.

As Wayne Simpson mentioned in an earlier post, there is also the World Wide Wedge mailing list that you can join. The TWOA encourages ALL wedge owners to join with us in helping further the preservation, restoration and long overdue appreciation of our cars as part of the Triumph family. Please look over the website, check out the forum, and give great consideration to joining us. We are an active club and will continue to be so as time progresses. We actually became the first sanctioned sub group of the VTR, and we are continuing to donate to and co-sponsor specific activities at each VTR as well as taking part in other various shows across the country, such as the Roadster Factory Summer Picnic in Armagh, PA.

Unlike the TR8CCA, which was primarily an East Coast club, the new and improved TWOA is nationwide, with active participation from east coast to west coast, from the deep south to the frigid north. We even have international representation worldwide. We want to make our presence known at every show we can, with various members participating.

So, please visit the following sites and join with us. We look forward to your participation, be it as a passive or active member, or perhaps becoming an officer or area rep. We want to hear from you!
