Hello,

I'd like to get out word to anyone who has rebuilt their engine lately and had minor performance upgrades done to their TR6.  I had a British car race shop who shall remain nameless at this point rebuild my 1976 engine with about 75K miles on it.  They race at VTR and seem very knowledgeable.  They've done several triple Stromberg setups this year.

The particulars on my engine were peak 104.48 HP the torque was peak at 140.52 after the dyno and tune.  It had never been rebuilt and was solid for a stock engine as a base, no issues.  I did want change over hardened valves and see some perfomance upgrades.

Here's what we went with:
All new internals with .020 over pistons and ARP hardware.
Cam was was new and I don't have the numbers but it was supposed to mirror the GP2 cam setup.  Goodparts Roller Rockers.
Triple Stromberg setup (rebuilt by Paltech) with Goodparts intake and "ram" air filter.  Used an early model head with some porting and polishing that shaved to bring the compression just in under 10:1.  Problem is that I'm only getting 105 rear wheel hp off the dyno and the guys that rebuilt it think that's great for this car and this setup.  Richard Goodparts and Paltech disagree.  I don't know what to do.  I've sunk over $8,500 into this engine and I'm embarassed by these numbers.
