I am coming close to putting a 69 GT6+ back on the road. I went to e-bay and found an original set of seat belts. however, I think they must be for another year. They have retractors which only function in the straight up position. I need to know where they mount. They can not mount on the wheel well since that puts them at an angle. If I mount them at the floor next to the seat there needs to be a mount directly above on the latch post. My question is: is this the correct mounting and where do I mount the middle bracket (the slide-thru loop)? Remember, this is a GT6+ not a MK1, MK2, or MK3. any accurate help would be appreciated.

I suspect what you have are NOT "original" to the 1969 GT6+. What you're describing sound like more modern inertia-reel three-point belts, but belts in the GT6+ of that era were definitely static belts. My very, very early 1970 model GT6+ had static, three-point belts. I don't know for certain what the 1969 models had. It's possible that they still had only lap belts as "standard" but with the option of a shoulder strap that connected into those lap belts. It is that latter arrangement that I was able to procure for my 1969 Mk3 Spitfire, which definitely did NOT have shoulder belts as standard.
