Hello to all - I am a new memeber and just finished restoringmy 59 TR3A.  I have most of it complete, but I am trying to find the routing for the drain tube from the scuttle vent.  I have the straight tube that goes from the battery box down through the transmission tunnel, but where does the scuttle vent go?  There is not enough room through the tranny tunnel and all books and pictures only show the one tube.  Does the scuttle go through the firewall somewhere?  Any help would be appreciated - Thanks

Congratulations on getting the restoration done. I'm about half way through mine. Been saying that for about a year or so now. I speak with no authority on this, as I have not gotten into the heater and vent, it's still in the car. But it looks to me like there is no drain. There appears to be just a small shelf where drips accumulate and, hopefully, evaporate. Perhaps someone out there will correct me. Whatever system there is, it works. I drove my TR3 for ten years and in all New England weather a generation or two ago and never noticed a leak in that area. (Perhaps it was masked by various other leaks). Tom Mulligan

The scuttle drain tube originally went thru the firewall at the rt side steering column blanking plate, I believe. I put a plastic barbed "T" in mine to connect the two drains just befor they go thru the tunnel.
Cheers!

Gordon's got it absolutely right. One edge of the tray under the vent is folded into a little spigot, which I missed completely, and the hose from that goes directly through  the firewall. Thanks Gordon. Tom Mulligan
