Just finishing off a restoration on my 74 "Magenta" TR6 and looking for assistance in determining the correct paint colours for the likes of: Valve cover, water pump, carbs, hub caps.  I know that the Valve cover and hub caps are silver but I'm looking for a correct factory code or as close as anyone has found.

Thanks
Al

Hi, I was told the valve color was "Hammered Silver"  Ditzler-DAR2593.  On this note I have a question you may be able to answer.  What was the original color of the engine, ie. block and othe painted components?  Can you help?

They refer to the valve cover color as Argent Silver.  I believe Moss still sells this in spray cans. Same as the TR6 wheel paint color.  Alternativly Eastwood would have this silver paint too in spray cans. This was not a "hammertone" color as found on the wiper motor covers. Carbs are natural and were not polished.  Engine block would be gloss black.  Some Lucas parts like the starter and alternater would be semi-gloss black. All the TR6 wheels were silver, the center wheel caps on the early cars were black, later cars like your 74 changed the caps to the Argent Silver.
Hope this helps,
Darrell
