I've noticed on ebay a lot of interest in the "commission number"  (CD....) of the cars that are for sale. Is there a lookup or reference somewhere that people are going to with the Commission number to learn something about the history of the car that's for sale?

I use the commission number to determine if the car came equipped with overdrive.

Using the commission number one can obtain a British Motor Heritage Trust Certificate for the car with the build information.
