I purchased a TR4A cylinder head on ebay and plan to install it on my TR4 block. The head has "the bevel cast along the edge of each combustion chamber" of a TR4A head - but I can't locate the #511695 cast into it. Where is this # supposed to be cast? The # between the push rod tubes on the left side of the cylinder head is 582137. Is this a TR4 head with bevels cut later?
Thanks from a novice!

Hi Rick,

The surefire way to tell if it's a TR4A head is to measure the OD of the valve guides; they should all be 1/2".

I expect to find the p/n 511695 stamped, not cast, on the top next to the front intake port. I suspect that the number you found is a casting number, not a part number...

Best,
chris
