I have a 63 tr4 that I am building a second engine for. Purchased a engine out of a wreck as the second engine. The block and head are fine, but the crank is cracked. Any one know where I can get one?

Thanks C

Not Moss Motors, but Moss UK has them at http://www.moss-europe.co.uk
TR4 Cranks are very expensive. When you get in the website, select TR4 and TR4A then "Engines and components" then select "Internal".  One thing is you do not pay the Value Added Tax (VAT). The exchange rate is approximately $1.40 to the British Pound, so multiply the costs time 1.4.

Don't forget to ask about shipping; and be sure to be sitting down when you do!  Unless things have changed, they will only ship airmail, and cranks are HEAVY.

Personally, I would look around for a good used one in the USA instead.  Triumphs Only is certain to have some; or Bill at Slightly Classics in Tucson might have one (he is unloading a 40 year collection of LBC parts on eBay).  Greg Solow at the Engine Room in Santa Cruz, CA will probably know someone who does, even if he doesn't.

Today is 25 November 2009 and there is one listed on Ebay today.  Do a search of "Triumph TR4"

It sounds like a nice one, but you may want to ask the seller a few questions.  It says STD, which I would assume means for standard sized bearings, but it does not specifically say that.  Maybe some more detail on the condition also.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.
