My father has had a 1960 TR10 Estate Wagon in his garage for about 40 years.  Any idea how much it is worth or any ideas on how to find out how much it is worth?

Thanks for any ideas.

Check Hemmings Motor News and eBay. Either or both of them should have something on your Dad's car. Since it is not one that is seen often, you may have to look for a while. On eBay, you can set a search and it will notify you when something that matches your search comes up for sale. Also, you might check with a local British Car Club in your area. Good luck!

Thank you Mr. Smith,

I have looked all over the internet and couldn't find anything regarding previous/current sales.  I am of course hoping that this means rare = high value. Huh??

I will give both a try.

It's very difficult to say without knowing the condition of the car. They tend not to show up in most old car pricing lists. For example, the NADA guides for "sports cars" do list a 1958 "Triumph Trio four-door hardtop" model. I guess it's not too difficult to see how one might make TR10 into Trio. Anyway, the "four-door hardtop" (really sedan, of course) is the closest thing that NADA lists.

Demand, frankly, is not terribly high for these cars, as fun and practical as they might be to the right person, so values often don't get too high. If, under the dust of 40 years' storage, your father's car is in very good original shape, it might be worth several thousand dollars. There have been a few very nice ones that have sold for good prices, and there are also a few folks around actually restoring wagons.

I would be very interested in more details (commission, engine and body numbers, and color of paint and interior), and possibly pictures, of your dad's wagon, and I'd also like to list it on my database page, the URL of which is below. And please feel free to ask me questions directly.

Thanks Mr. Mace.  I will check the numbers and get it in the database.  Dad took it to a Triumph rally in Boulder a number of years back and received a lot of interest in it.  It was certainly unique at that rally anyways.
