hey all,
as you know i have recently purchased a 76 spit.  It is having a clutch problem and im not sure what it is.  Sometimes at idle It wont go into gear all the time, sometimes i have to pump the clutch two or three times so i can slide it into gear.  Sometimes it wont go in at all.  it does go in with the car off and i can switch between gears while driving using the clutch.
basically im looking for what my problem could be.  I have been told it may be the slave cylinder or the master cylinder.  If anybody has any idea where i should start it would be greatly appreciated.  thank you...

I've had the same problem on my TR. It sounds like either the clutch master or slave, or maybe both have a bad seal such that fluid leaks through and the slave cylinder does not travel the needed amount when you depress the clutch pedal. It's hard to tell which but rebuilding is pretty simple, replacing with new cylinders is probably a better bet in the long run and not that expensive. Parts and cylinders are readily available.
