Gents:

Having installed twin HS-4's in my 1975 1500, I find that I canna open said throttles wide due to a long throttle cable with too much slack.  I was going to try to find a cable clip (local motorcycle shop?) and shorten it that way.  The adjusting nut has been all the way out. and all the way in.  (thing came off of an MGB-so did the carbs)

62 mph is a safe speed-I DID put the thing together-mind! but I believe theres yet more horsepower to be had.

any suggestions?

Are you trying to say the cable does not move enough to turn the butterfly valves all the way open? If this is true then adjusting the nut would not help, you need to move the pivot point on the cable on the shaft inwards towards the shaft(drill a new hole), this will give more throw for less cable movement. but be careful, to much throw and you'll turn the butterfly to far, and lose power.
