Does anybody know what the maximum advance you can have on a TR4A motor?  I am talking after the vacuum advance is fully engaged.

Thanks,

Here is an attempt to answer your question.  I checked with a mechanic friend and he told me what he does with his TR4.  He turns the vacuum advance all of the way forward on the distributor and then runs the engine up to about 2000 rpm and sets the timing at 28 degrees.  I don't know if this is what you are asking, but hope it helps.

Yes, Charley, thanks for your reply.  You are in the ballpark of what I was thinking.  I am working on the ignition map of the Megasquirt controller to electronically control the advance and fuel mixtures on my TR4A engine, so I needed some information on how much advance I could put in.
