Since I can't find a local version to try out, does anyone out there have any feedback on how well a fairly tall person (6' 5") would fit behind the drivers seat of a TR-8? Oddball question for sure but hopefully I'll obtain some feedback.

David,
I am not tall, only 5'9", but there is plenty of leg room in my TR8.  I can slide the seat back and barely touch the pedals so that would be good. As with most TR's getting in and out w/o banging you head is a challenge but also not so bad in a Wedge.  Just never put the top up assumming you are considering a Drop Head TR8 vs a Fixed Head. Cool
Cheers,
Darrell

Well, I think you'll fit in a TR8 (or TR7) better than any other TR. I suppose it also depends on where you're tall. Back in the Day, I used to wear a 34 inch pants inseam and had plenty of legroom, albeit with the seat adjusted all the way back. I'm just under 6" tall, and had the better part of 3 inches of excess headroom. I would say don't buy until you'd had the opportunity to try one on for size, but I think you should be okay.

I would agree with the previous post about the coupe. I find it has less headroom than the drophead, even with the top up.

This is something I've also been wondering. I'm 6'4" and 275+ pounds. I currently drive a 1965 Spit MK2. Believe it or not I fit in the Spit even top up! But I am having too much trouble keeping up with my fellow car club members with their TR6's ect. So, I am looking towards the TR8 possibility.

I am also "excessive in stature", being 6'5" as well.  The only problem I have is my right leg has to rest on the counsel pad and is cocked at a rather sharp angle, which can get irritating on a long drive.  Actually, the wedges were the first TR's that I could drive, so I have a 76 TR7 fhc as well as the 80 TR8 drophead.  There is no problem with headroom in either car.  However, my inseam is only 34" which might be an advantage.
