I am trying to find a bit of back ground info on my 1969 GT6 Mk2. Here is the history I know, which isn't much.
  • Purchased in Phoenix Arizona from Hans _____ who was going to use it for his Spitsix project but decided it was to nice to part out
  • Was last on the road as far as I can tell in 1991 and was owned by Mykael Miller - now Mykael Lord (?)
  • Was, I believe, brought to Arizona from California

That is all I have. It still has the UK plate on it and through my Land Rover connections in England I know that the car was originally purchased in the greater London area.

Unfortunately the VIN was changed by the Arizona DOT so I no longer have the original VIN. I do know that the car started its life blue and was painted red at some point.

If anyone can be of any help please let me know. I realize that this is a long shot, but the car is unique (being a Mark 2 and not a Plus) enough that it may be easier to trace. You can contact me at bikesnrovers at gmail com.

Thanks!

Bikenrovers... I also have a 69 GT6 and need to find a comm. number but the only #
I find is a frame number.  Do you have a frame # and a comm. # and are they the same?  Frame number is on small plate welded to the right frame.  #FC134497.
Great car to go with my B-GTs and TR6s.  Thanks for any info.  BL Bratt

That frame number won't help you, as the GT6s carried "KC" commission number prefixes. If it is a "Federal" 1969 model year car, it should have (had) a commission number plate on the LH side of the "scuttle" (in the area near where the bonnet catch is), and it should also have a small plate on the LH vertical windshield post. Are both of those gone?

Worst case scenario, should you want to try to retrieve the original commission number, is to contact the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust/Heritage Motor Centre Archive http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/archive/certificate_index.html for a Build Certificate. It costs more when you don't have the original commission number, but they usually can provide that if you have the BODY number and (if original) the engine number. Body number probably is more reliable here, as engines are easily changed.
