Jeffrey Steinberg here. I just bought a 76 TR6 in restored condition. What chapters are there for downstate NY?

See http://www.vintagetriumphregister.org/chapters.shtml; you might find that the New Jersey Triumph Association is about the closest to you. Brits of the Hudson -- http://www.britsofthehudson.org/ -- is an all-British club (albeit not a VTR Chapter) that might be yet closer.
