Well it looks like this is the first post in the TR 4 section. I own a TR 4A 1966 solid axle white with black interior. 112,000 miles. runs great. Hope to hear from all you other 4 owners.

I have a 1966 TR4A IRS Black. It is in good very original condition, the only issue is i have never heard it run. I expect to fire it soon.
Looking to replace the original top which is black everflex with TAN cloth on the inside if anyone could suggest supplier. Thanks Sail

Sail your car sounds nice. I would go with an original replacement convertable top however rather than a cloth one. You can order one from any of the after market suppliers of TR parts.

yes i have checked around for a correct black top with tan inside but no tan, black or gray. low priority however i want to drive it. went through brakes and hoses, new kuhmos on the old wires. next is to rebuild strombergs and hope for the best. my abilities are limited but so far everything makes sense and only one stuck bolt. car has not run in 15+ years. anxious

Once you get it going it will drive like a dream took 5 years on mine to be dependable.  Gotta keep the upkeep on them though,  as someone once said the nice things about English sports cars is that they need you more than you need them. Half the fun is figuring out why something went wrong and then working on it. Grin

I just sold my 1969 MGB and bought an 1957 MGA project car for my wife and a '62 TR4 for myself. Red/black good condition, have yet to start it. The guy I bought it from started it and the oil pressure gage line was disconnected and squirted oil onto the floorboards. I hope to get it started next weekend but first I have to find a battery and reconnect everything behind the dash. Anyone know what size battery I need? I can't seem to find out.

New here! I come from a background more intensive in Jap and German imports, but my brother just picked up a 66 TR4A IRS for free. It's far from perfect, the body is probably going to have to come off, but the rust is minimal. Hang on, I'm not completely off topic here. Anyways, we got it to crank yesterday with an IV bag of gas connected to the carbs. Ran great, but knocked. No big deal. Now here's the point I was getting to. The car had no battery. I have a 79 Rabbit Diesel that needs a battery. I figured I'd pick up the batt for the Bunny and use it in the TR4 for the weekend. Fit like a charm! It filled the battery tray nicely, and with the posts facing forward, the positive post is pn the driver's side, perfect for connecting to the factory cabling. Mine was something like $59 from Vato Zone, but you may be able to find one cheaper. Just a suggestion for replacement parts. Cheers!  Wink

Hello. I am in the process of doing a full body-off resto on my 1967 TR-4A with solid axle.

I'll be replacing floor pans, battery box and interior sills, and prep & paint in my garage. I'll be posting my progress in the forum.
