Hello all,

I just purchased my first Spitfire and love it. I am currently working on the restoration but I had a question. The wheels have several rust spots on them and I have no idea on how to remove it with out damaging the wheels any more. I have attached a picture of one of the wheels. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks!

Tommy, Ultimately I prefer the sand blast and powder coat method, makes them practically indestructable. You may try Navel Jelly and/or a rust converter product. Then a good "Steel Wheel" paint, Plasticoat makes a decent one.
Good Luck!

Thanks guy! I am going to give that a shot today!

19 May 08 - Great advice on the wheels. I finished all 4 as well as the spare today. They came out great! Thanks again!
