Hello:
I'm about to paint my 57 tr 3 tub.
Are the floor pans painted body color, top and bottom?
How about the tranny, and drive shaft covers? Gas tank?
Thanks, Emmett

Hello:
I rescued this car in boxes.
It has many layers of colors.
The bottom of the floor pans are black whilst the color of the floor pan top is gray.
Since I don't have a finished car to compare--
Shouldn't both sides be body color?
How about some help?
thanks, Emmett

Emmett:

Entire underbody, including the fender wells, are all body color.  When my panelbeater / painter did the body of the TR2 in 2003 he added a heavy dose of hardener (his words). Now, almost 20,000 miles later, the underside still looks as good as freshly done.  A spraying and powerwash with Simple Green each spring is enough to remove the engine oiling.

Thanks Lou;
What color are the transmission, and driveshaft covers, and the fueltank?
Gray, flat black, body color--Seems like body color- but mine are gray!
Some where I got a list of correct colors for an entire TR3, with much ado about hoodstick colors, but nothing on these items.
Thanks for your help,
Your brother in TR's, Emmett

Emmett:

I don't think these are covered in TRA's guidelines since they will be out of view.  My TS981's fuel tank is a gloss black while the transmission and shaft cover are body color, top and under.

Always ready to help if I can
