I've been tinkering with a Vehicle Registry for a bit during the off season and I think the code is stable, so I'm in need of a few "beta" testers, about a dozen, on a first come, first served basis. 

Be warned, since this is a beta test, your data could be lost into the web's never-never land at some point along the way and you may have to re-enter it when the registry is officially announced in March.

What I'm after is feedback.  What models are missing?  What info should we be capturing that is not on the add vehicle form?  How intuitive was the process for adding vehicles?  For searching?  And finally, what suggestions do you have for making the experience better?  No personal information is being captured, even voluntarily, and that is something we could discuss here in this forum even if you choose not to participate.  Should the owners have the option of providing owner information?

The intention is that the registry be accessible to non-members and members alike.  If you'd like to participate in the trial and perhaps add a vehicle or two to the database, please send an email to me at bdischer@vtr.org and I'll forward access information to you.

As of tonight, the folks offering to be guinea pigs for the registry have uploaded 40 vehicles.  Based on their feedback, here are the changes I've made.  Thanks to all of you for your feedback, it's been very helpful.  I'm still working on tweaks.

Changes:
1. Date added now pre-loads the current date.
2. Engine number now pre-loads "not known".
3. Added "Color, interior" field.
4. Added "Date built (from BMIHT certificate)" field.
5. Added link to VTR home page.
6. Eliminated duplicate listing of Stag, Acclaim, and TR5 in model listing on Add Vehicle page.
7. Eliminated TR7 Spider.  Owners of special edition TR7s (Spider, Victory, etc) can mention special trim packages in Full Description field.
8. Modified TR7 description to include "Fixed Head Coupe (hardtop)".
9. Added 2000 Mk1, 2000 Mk2
10.  Added GT6 MkII and MkIII
11.  Modified TR8 description to include "Fixed Head Coupe (hardtop)".
12.  Added TR8 Drop Head Coupe (cnvtbl)
13.  Changed order presented on front page to alphabetical "Sort by model".
14.  Added Login and Register into left column.
15.  Added "Owner Information" field.
16.  Removed "More Info" link as it is not needed.
17.  Removed hot link on photos which used to go to "More Info" page.
