i have a 1963 spitfire that i am selling - no one wants it. so i am considering the project again - considering. it would be a shame to break it for parts. is there anywhere i can get floor pans without paying $250 and up?

by the way it is listed in the VTR Classifieds if interested.

Regards,

Well...you do get what you pay for.  Wink

There might be some "cheap" floorpans out there, but odds are they're thinner metal, poorly stamped and poorly shaped, and require much more work to fit properly. On the plus side, all Spitfire floor pans are basically the same '63-'80, with the only real difference being in the outboard seat mounting points (from the high-back Mk3 seats on, the seats were slightly wider).

If floors are basically all your car needs, it would be worth paying for the "good" ones for fit and for safety, which ultimately translates to greater value of the finished product.

Mike,

I just recently bought floor pans for my 80 Spitfire thru TRF when they were having one of their sales.  Consider signing up for their bi-weekly email and watch their sales.  Also, I believe they are about $220 from Spit Bits which is for the good ones with the welded in nuts for the seats, seat belt, they are very nice and fit very well.
