I read ppellete's post with much interest and look forward to seeing how my car measures up....but right now my oil pressure guage is not working at all. Can anyone tell me what the most common cause of this is. I really hate the idea of having to access the  guage from behind the dash....guess one would have to ease the dash forward..yikes !!! . Perhaps one can start elsewhere first.

Thanks so much in advance.

Greg,

Not sure if you have solved the problem yet but one suggestion I can make before going behind the dash.  There is a very thin tube that runs from the block to the back of the oil pressure guage.  Make sure that this tube is not kinked in any way.

Cheers,
Tush
