I will check in frequently to see if I can help with any TR250 questions.

Is anyone interested in establishing a TR250 registry?  I have done some research and can account for only about 5% of the TR250s built.

Hi,
It would interest me to learn how many 250's still exsist in Glory.  I have one on the road but it took two to build it. Restored as original. Concours winner, once scored 397 pts out of 400.  That was then and this is now since it is driven and showing some battle scars. I have seen several scrapped here in Ohio due to non repairable rust.  Attending Shows across the USA I can recall seeing at least 50 or more still alive and well.  Of course that is far short of the 8484 imported from the UK.
Cheers,
Darrell

Hi,

I had 2 TR250s at one time.  All that existed of the one was the commission number plate.  The car had been scrapped by someone else.  As I mentioned I can trace only about 5% world wide of the TR250s ever made.

Roy,
There is more than 5% surviving.  Just saw two at a British car show in NE Ohio.  One for sale starting at 20K and negociating up.

Hi, just found you guys and I am getting my father's 68 tr250 back on the road.  I would like to get the Heritage motor enthusiast certificate and it is asking for the chassis number.  Do you know what they are looking for.
thanks

What they're looking for is the COMMISSION NUMBER.

Chris, as Andy said, they want the Commission number which is on the plate fastened to the left front wheel arch in the engine compartment.  Should be CD XXXX L.

Chris,

Don't really know who is best for paints.  A lot depends on what the painter likes to work with.  I do have a couple of codes for 34 - Jasmine Yellow:
PPG 81686
ICI 5520
Hope this helps.

Cheers,

hi Guys,
having a tremendous trouble with the carbs!!!  My mechanic fixes the rear carb and the cars runs great for 20 miles or so then starts to flood and run terrible.  Last inspection he said that the float had broken...any suggestions <I undertstand there is a rebuild or conversion kit out there.  What do I do next???  This is my father's car and I love driving it

Hi Chris,
Calm down now, if the carb is flooding it very well may be something as simple as contaminants blocking the float needle valve therefore sticking it wide open.  Have you changed the fuel filter?  Do you know the condition of the fuel tank? Any dirt, rust particles, etc getting past the filter and into you carbs will block the needle valve and either stick it closed or wide open.  Broken floats can happen I suppose but that is much rarer. Sometimes when the needle valve is stuck open all you have to do is rap the float bowl with a wrench or something to get the dirt to clear to needle valve.  Been there done that. Your TR250 needs clean fuel.  Grin
Hope this helps,
Darrell

I think it would be great to have a 250 registry. I currently own 2, 1 running the other waiting on total restoration. The one running is like family, I have had it since I was 16. Restored at 18, I am currently 41. It is a fabulous car, and very dependable. So sign me up!!
