Thanks everyone for the assistance as I make things work and break other things!

Clutch -- I bought a new slave cylinder form Moss and installed it this afternoon, bled, etc and have it nearly correct.   done well enough to drive my 2 but not perfect yet.

Brakes -- the front left grabs very quickly and deliberately and not sure that the rear are catching at all.  after replacing the clutch slave and bleeding that stuff, bled the brakes to find that the fronts bled fine but appears that no fluid is making to way to the rear brakes.  how could that be?

Help...Marc

My guess would be the flexible line from the body to the rear axle.  They can sometimes fail inside and block flow, while looking OK on the outside.

Great suggestion and spot on as I yet again bled the brakes and while I was there adjusted them all down using that brake cylinder adjustment thing.  noticed that the flexible brake line in the rear that goes from the steel line to the splitter thing above the rear axle.

After all these advances, I drove her around the neighborhood a couple times and things are better.

One thing I totally missed was that not only could I bleed the slave, I could also adjust the rod by loosening the lock nut and turning the rod.  now the clutch works better as well.

thanks....Marc
