Hello,

I'm new to the forum and need some help.

What is a good source for values of Triumph GT6's?
I am trying to determine the value of a 1971 GT6. It is original owner owned.
After a year of ownership he did a V8 swap with a Buick 215 and Muncie 4spd.
It now has a Borg Warner 5spd. He does not have the original engine unfortunately.
Aside from the engine and trans, it is 100% original finished in harvest gold with black interior.
Mileage is around 50K. Car has been sitting for over 10 years.

Thanks for your help,

I think, with most cars, when stuff starts getting swapped out, GT6's get murdered into convertibles, spitfires get violated into 6's, etc., it all becomes very subjective.  Most of the time, the owner, and modifier, will put a much higher value on his creation than anyone else.  I guess it matters also if the change is reversible and if the potential buyer wants to do the work.  With some cars it's worth it.  Some would value a modified car high, because they don't have to do the work and they like it.  Others wouldn't touch it because it's not authentic.  So, it depends on what you're looking for, and if you want to go through the possibly frozen engine.
It does sound fast.

Actually, with the history of the 215 and it's design quality, if you were going to do a major engine swap, it would be a really good choice.
Maybe you should talk to some people over here:  http://forum.britishv8.org/

it's harvest gold with black interior. The guy that owns it bought it brand new. He is an engineer and back in the 70's he was
involved in the trans am race scene. He had the engine rebuilt before he installed it. It was balanced and blue printed.
