On to the next project!

I see where my clutch master is leaking and has been for quite some time. I am going to do both the clutch and brake masters together. Is it worthwhile trying the repair kits, or is it better to just buy new ones?
I saw where Moss had QC issues with their Classic Gold master cylinders so I was wondering if they had fixed that issue yet? And, is it worth trying to fix leaky masters with the repair kits? It seems that all there is in the kits are a few rubber plugs and a packet of grease.
Thanks,
Rand

If the cylinder bore is in good condition, then a rebuild kit is a good solution IMO.  Many of the new ones don't look and fit quite the same way, especially if your car is early enough to have the outlets that point straight up instead of at an angle.

The kits don't contain very much, just the two round seals, the dust boot, a circlip and a wavy washer/spring.  Some of them include the gasket for the reservoir cap, but most don't.

Might be good to have a spring on hand too, in case you find one of them is broken.

Thanks Randall,

If the cylinder bore is scarred or ridged, is it worth honing them lightly? I've heard that they will leak for sure if honed. Otherwise, hope that the new seals and such will work?

Honing is more of a judgment call IMO.  I have done it with reasonably good success, but maybe the seals don't last as long in the oversize bore.  The hone also doesn't leave as slick a finish, which may also shorten seal life.
