Just bought a reconditioned gas tank from Team Triumph in OH ($200 with exchange), and will be swapping it in within the next couple of weeks. The RENU goo has fouled the threads of the fitting for the gas line outlet, and I would like to chase the threads. Does anyone know what size/thread count this is? I would guess a 7/16 fine, but would like to know so I can get a thread clean-up tool from Sears before I pull the old tank out.

The TR 4 gas tank outlet is a 1/2 inch fine thread.  I would guess that the TR6 is the same.

You are correct. Tank is in and not leaking. All is right with the world.
