Looking for a sanity check.... How exactly do I determione TDC on the compression stroke? Was told that the two rearmost valves should be moving when the timing mark on the crank pully is at 0 deg's and the #1 piston is at the top of its travel. Just looking to confirm this to be true

An easier to follow approach is to watch #1 valves, watch exhaust open and close and then intake open and close. Closure of intake is the commencement of the compression stroke. Then look at the crank pulley. When the dot and indicator next correspond, you are at TDC of compression stroke on #1.
