Hoping there may be an easy answer to this - or at least something to try before I try to find a mechanic that can wok on Stromberg Carbs.  I have fuel dripping from the bottom of the carburetor - I will check the o-ring on the plug in the bottom - but wanted to see if there were other suggestions.

Thanks

Check out the floats and float valve, too.  Apparently the original floats don't stand up to modern 'oxygenated' fuel very well, so they start absorbing fuel and get too heavy to work properly.  Burlen, Joe Curto and no doubt lots of others are now selling "unsinkable" floats that should work.

It's also possible to have a piece of crud stuck in the valve, or the valve is simply worn out.

Less common, but still possible is fuel pressure too high; particularly if the pump has been replaced recently.

Probelm resolved - ordered new plugs and O rings and just installed tonight.  I couldn't tell from the manuals I had if the plugs screwed in or how they were secured, so once I received the new ones it looked like they could just be pried out.  Put a screwdriver under the lip and levered slowly and voila - popped right out.  Inserted the new one and replaced the one on the other carb.  Quick drive down the road and back and no fuel leak (knocking on wood that it wasn't the floats).  Fells good to be ready to roll again!

Appreciate the advice and input.

Happy Motoring, Randy
