After fitting a new rubber gasket to the spare tire opening, I am  not satisfied with the alignment of the edges of the spare tire door relative to the surrounding panels. Taking note that the spare tire doors are rather flimsy and likely to be shaped in part by the pressure from the gasket, how close conformity with surrounding panels might I expect? Any experience with shaving the gasket?
Thanks, Bob Hustead

Shaving the gasket was my solution to what I saw as a door that did not fit close enough to the body.

Thanks for your response (indeed responses, to me and others as well). Any guidance on keeping the cut edge square? Did you use a razor blade, scissor?

Thanks again,
Bob
