Hi,

Can anyone help me locate the fill hole and give me a clue about how to add oil to the gearbox sump?

The fill plug is on the LH side, kind of hidden above a stiffening rib.  Hopefully this photo will come through:


The original plug has a 7/16" square head, which rounds easily.  I strongly suggest you find a 7/16" 8-point socket (should be available at any tool store, Sears, etc).
My preference is to replace the square headed plugs with hex socket plugs (as you can see in the photo), which are hardened and don't strip nearly so easily.

There are several ways to do the actual filling; my preference is a hand pump like

(which should be available at your friendly local auto parts store).
