I'm returning my 1147cc Spitfire 4 back to original.  But the previous owner had a Webber Side draft carburetor and removed anything (I think) of the SU carburetors.  I have now acquired rebuilt SU carburetors correct for this engine.  I'm just stumped as to how to get the movement from the actuation arm (from the Accelerator petal) to the center of the carburetors movement.  The actuator arm end point only comes to below the outer point of the left (Rear) carburetor.  Since I can't find one image of how this was done.  I'm stuck guessing how this linkage was done.  Could the previous owner bent the control arm back or chopped it short?  Huh

Found that the previous owner had indeed cut the arm short.  Also, finding a replacement is not easy.  But found a derelict early spitfire4 and installed a replacement.  Grin

Hello friend, I read today of your problem. If you have not solved your troubles, I can advise you to ask for what you are looking at:
quillertriumph.co.uk
spitbitz.co.uk
spitfiregraveyard.co.uk

They are retailers, including online, used parts for our spit. I bought some parts, which are in good condition, new, were unavailable. Wink

I'd look at the parts diagrams at Spit Bits or a similar website, also review diagrams in manuals/books.  You should be able to find exploded views that would show how parts should look.
