I'd suggest using one's actual name rather than a pseudonym. I know one would relate better to a name than something like "Big Mac" in the author area or if one were to meet "Big Mac" at an event the introduction would mean nothing as the person's real name , not the listing/register pseudonym would be part of the introduction.

Hi Bob,  Yep, that's part of the rules in fact.  Posts have to be signed with the poster's real name.

Cheers,

Your reply prompted me to read the rules, they're fair and logical. Everyone will benefit from the exchanges in this venue.

Is there a distinction between the user name, forum name and signature? I see a potential for trouble when using your given name as your user name. What if we have more than one John Smith or David Jones? I used an alias as my user (login) name but display my given name in my signature. Am I in violation of the rules?

BTW Blake, good rules post. It warms my heart whenever anyone quotes Robert Burns. I once owned and raced a Flying Scot sailboat named "Tam O' Shanter". No one understood the connection.  Grin

Hey Wayne,  The user name can be anything, I'm just asking that people SIGN their posts with their real names.  Cheers, Blake
