me again!

With my TR2, I am planning on putting a read leather interior and was wondering if the carpet would have been red or black from the factory. (going with red leather as geranium leather is impossible to find).

thanks....

Mike (Marc?), "trim" included both upholstery and carpet.  They matched.  So, your carpet would have been red.  My restorer friend tells me that of all the carpet colors to match, the reds are the most difficult; black being the easiest, obviously.  My first TR3A had red interior, but the carpet had faded so badly that it looked tan.

My heart goes out to you TR2 folks, when it comes to matching the original colors.  There were some "outlandish," to quote Bill Piggott, color combinations in the early years, his favorite being Olive Yellow with Blackberry trim.  (Maybe I am FORTUNATE being colorblind, as the car looks fine to me!)

Marc:
Disagree that Geranium leather is impossible to find.  Bill Hirsch will custom vat dye a cow to any color you want.

Yes.  But what does the COW have to say about it?  A little respect here...
