Huh ???Well I am in the process of putting in the interior of my TR-2, nothing is easy on this car. Well I am trying to figure out where all the studs go around the cockpit of my car. I actually either have an extra hole or a missing one. I'm hoping for the latter. I have 2 holes where the capping on the quarter rail(door) meets the tonneau railing on my car(moss's terms). I am also trying to figure out where the boot cover, interior, stud goes. Also I am trying to figure out if the studs go through the capping or not.If not, I guess I get to do a lot of remolding of it, this is what I think I get to do. I didn't see any holes before they were covered. Does anyone have photos they can send me, showing these.Hopefully without the top/tonneau on? I'm frustrated at this point. I've looked at vtr's tr2 stuff, on line, etc. Can't find the answer. Later cars are so much easier, I'm not even sure where to screw in my cockpit tank cover, since I  don't have any holes. I guess I just make some  L shaped brackets and screw them in to the floor and the bottom of the tank cover. Pictures would really help.

thanks, Mike

Mike,
I have TS-2183-O and believe the original tenax body things are in place.  I am confused by the question -- are you looking for the placement of the pegs at the rear of the soft top, the door, doglegs, or the front capping?  I would be pleased to send pics.

Well I need to know where to put all the tenax fasteners around the cockpit. I cant tell with the top and tonneaus on the cars. I have a problem around the elbow capping. I have 2 holes on one side and only one on the other. I also need to see where to put the stud on the inside of the capping to place the stud for the top bow cover. Hopefully this helps, If others aren't sure what I'm asking, I can take a photo of the holes by the capping. Do I put in 1 or 2 studs. Dint know how else to word this.

thanks,Mike

Mike, I can provide you some photos of where the two inside studs go for the "hood stick cover."  My car is a TR3B, and it is bastardized from the word go, but these will at least give you an idea of where they go.  I have no idea what material you will be drilling into on your car; it might be a metal flange, or, as in my case, it may be the cardboard panel behind the upholstery.  (These photos make my upholstery look filthy!)

When I bought my car, it did not have a hood stick cover, or the two inner studs, so I ordered these and the female fittings from The Roadster Factory (Moss will have the same things).  The cover came with the two lift-the-dot fittings already installed, thank god.  So, these let me know where I had to drill my stud holes.  Then, I had to make my own 12 holes on the outside edge of the cover, to match the stud locations.  This was easy:  I installed the two inside studs, attached the two fittings, folded down the frame and inserted it into the ends of the cover, then stretched the cover over the frame, and tapped a hammer on the cover over each stud to make a mark as to where the hole had to go.  Then I took the cover to a friend's upholstery shop and used his lift-the-dot punch (the damn things cost $70!!!) and installed my new fittings.

The photos are a little blurred - I am sorry.  It was 20 degrees in my garage and I was in a hurry to get the photos and get out of there.

Dang!!  I don't know how to attach a photo!  Email me (tr3agab@gmail.com) and I will send them to you.
