I plan to do a full mechanical resto on my 64 tr4 next winter.
She pretty tight now with about 85,000 miles.
I would really like a little (alot) more jam out of her so i was considering getting my hands on a tr-6 power train and giving it the once over. But now i see this new supercharger at Moss. Does anyone have an opinoin on these things?

Not looking for a V8, but would like something closer to TR6 performance.

Thanks

Actually, the stock US-spec TR6 didn't make much more power than the TR4 and was heavier to boot.  So in stock form, your TR4 should be about as quick.

It's also not hard at all to pick up 30% more without the cost of the blower.  Shave the head, use a good tubular exhaust, maybe some bigger liners (BFE sells 89mm liners that bring the displacement to almost 2.3 liters) and a good camshaft.

However, the Moss kit does look good.  If the price doesn't scare you off, I'd say it's worth a try.

FWIW, a friend of mine had one of their blower kits on his early Miata and it really woke it up.  Had about 40,000 miles when he (and I) put the blower on, and other than some teething issues (Moss/Jackson eventually sent him some new idler pulleys that helped a lot) it worked OK for another 100,000 or so.  But a few months ago now, he discovered that the front crankshaft pulley had come loose on the shaft, making the car essentially scrap.  He sold it for $500, which just about covers the value of the various aftermarket goodies (including the blower).  Don't know that the blower had anything to do with it, but it seems suspicious to me.
