Please could anybody tell me where the temperature transmitter is located on a us spec 1200 herald .Uk cars dont have one fitted and i cant find any details in the factory spares book.

Typically, the transmitter was fitted atop the thermostat elbow housing:



Note that this fitment pretty much requires one to have an original-style "flat-top" thermostat fitted, or else the transmitter will foul on the top of the thermostat and prevent the housing from being bolted down.
