Quoting the shop manual for the TR4.
  "Note that on  L.H. drive cars, two packings are fitted between the R.H. spring and the axle pad."  I see no illistration of these packings in the shop manual or the after market catalogs. Anyone out there know anything about this? Thanks: KSD

I strongly suspect that these "packings" are what we see as short pieces of leaf spring that are mounted as a part of the leaf spring assembly.  I have never seen any separate packings on any early or late TR4 spring/axle mountings.
