Hello Folks,

I am trying to locate TS1LO.  The last information I have says that Joe Richards sold it to Robert Smith, from the island of Hawaii, for his "personal collection and museum."  I have not been able to Google any auto museums in Hawaii.   Huh Huh

I have two close friends from high school - who live in Hawaii - who owned TR3s "back in the day," and I would love to be able to tell them where they could see TS1LO.  It would be a unique Christmas present for the.  [and it wouldn't cost me any money! Wink Wink Wink]

So, if you know anything of its Hawaii whereabouts, please respond to this post.  I look forward to hearing from you.  I was distressed to hear that it went to Hawaii, but I couldn't expect it to stay in Ohio forever.  TS2O is still in England, BTW.

Thanks in advance.

The following link contains some interesting and slightly newer information. Look at page 5 on the pdf document. Here you will find, among other thinks, Robert Smith's contact information as of February 2010. At that time TS1 was again for sale (really high end according to Mr. Smith). Got any extra scratch?

Thanks, Tom!  I have sent this to my two friends.  I asked them to call his number and ask what he is asking for TS1.  I see that he also has the FIRST bug-eye Sprite.  Of course, I have no idea what he paid Joe for the car, and it is "gauche" to discuss such matters, but hell, I am a TR collector, so I can ask.  Back in the Reagan years, when everything went thru the roof, he probably would have asked $1,000,000 for it, but I am curious to see what it is going for now.  I am so jaded after watching Barrett-Jackson over the years.  And I sometimes really wonder about Barrett-Jackson...

My next car will either be a TR2 or MGA, depending on what becomes available after I find my richwiddawoman.

Have a great Halloween, to all.

Folks, I have some news.  An old girlfriend from high school lives in Hawaii, so I had her call Robert Smith and talk to him about TS1.  He is asking $135,000 for the car, along with its documentation and two original paintings, an oil and a watercolor.  She says that he seems like a nice guy and will be happy to send photos to anyone interested.

She mentioned to him that she sold her MGA when she was a kid.  He just happens to have a light blue MGA in his collection...  He is selling his entire collection, by the way.

So there you have it.  I hope that the next buyer will take the car around to various National and Regional VTR events, so that we may all see it.  It will be an emotional moment for me, I know...

If nothing else, let's hope that TS 1 LO stays in North America!  Grin

Is Hawaii in North America? (I do know what you mean, Andy) The "L" TR2s belong here, TS1 foremost. Tom
