I'm going to replace my wire wheels with stock
TR3 disc wheels. My question is ... How do I replace the
wire wheel hub from the axle assy. so I can install
the longer studs needed for disc wheels? I need to get
the assembly off which has the short studs installed so
I can have new longer studs pressed in.
The front end should be no problem. It's the rear axle
I'm concerned about.
Thanks in advance Don S. (TR3don)

I am most certain that if you will remove the rear axle shaft you will have plenty of room to remove/replace the studs.  To do this you will need to remove the wheel, brake drum and then move to the back of the brake backing plate and you will find six bolts that hold the hub and hub bearing housing to the solid axle housing.  These bolts have keepers on them to secure them in place.  You will need to open the keepers to allow the bolts to be removed.  Once the six bolts are out the axle shaft can be pulled straight out.  You should be able to work with this assembly to change the studs without removing anything else from the axle shaft.

The front wheels you will need to remove the cotter key and center nut to remove the hub.  It is best to have a repair manual for the car to be sure you are following the steps and safety items correctly.
Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. It seems easier than I thought it would be.

One additional item.  When you remove the six bolts on the rear axle be sure to support the backing plate (assuming that you are not removing the brake line from the wheel cylinder).  The backing plate will be held there by the brake line which is not made to hold that weight.  You don't want to bend the brake line.
Good luck,
