Again, yesterday I was trying for the first time to remove the 3 blade screws from each side of the windscreen and was able to get a total of 3 of the 6 to move.  I used WD-40 and the better stuff but cannot remember the name to no luck.  even tried tapping with ball-ping hammer to try and jar them.

Any advice as I am concerned that if I continue I will damage?

on the other side, has anyone removed and replace the lower rubber seal (screen to body) without taking the window glass out?

thanks in advance....Marc

I'd recommend a combination of lubricants, BP Blaster or similar and Newcastle Brown. Don't drink the PB Blaster.
If you do ruin one (or more) you can usually drill off the head to get the windshield out and then tease out the rest with vicegrips.
Good luck.

From my experience a couple of years ago the
6 you are working on are easy compared to the
inside ones coming up (they hold the corners of the frame together)
Mine were rusted solid.
My advise is to go slow---soak them good with the blaster
(WD-40 good lube but I don't like it as a penetrating oil)
wait day or so then try them again--- there's always heat,
could be tough on the chrome. Good Luck.
Entire replacement with glass and rubber is a pain, but
looks good when complete.

well, this weekend I returned to the stantions and was able to get 5 of the 6 7/8" screws to release an broke off the 6th.  Luckily it is a middles screw in case i cannot drill it through properly.

did in fact use significant PB Blaster and then resorted to torch and back and forth and as you suggested, patience and perseverance won this time.  Once they were out I went to the zeus fasteners holding the stantions and luck here as they were all reasonably free.

worked for several hours to remove and replace the frame to body rubber as the 4 little screws were again a bear.  got 3 of the 4 and broke the 4th.  consistent if not good!

thanks for the guidance and support as I continue to move through this critter!
